Gorp Drake Has Evolved into Biker Drake
A pretty common fixture on the sideline of any Toronto Raptors game is Drake wearing head-to-toe gorp gear next to his son Adonis.
Previous games have seen us take note of the artist’s ROA sneakers, camo jackets, and Salomons. In fact, the musician has been enjoying the practicality of outdoor gear so much, taking things one step further with a custom Arc’teryx jacket, that we’ve resorted to sometimes just referring to his style as Gorp Drake.
And while sitting court-side as the Raptors played the Los Angeles Clippers, he continued to show love to gorp-y, hiking styles — but with a leather twist.
It’s been a year where full-leather outfits have been aplenty, in the past month alone we’ve seen Kylie Jenner turn into a biker girl from mars and Irina Shayk go the Matrix route with a long-length leather jacket. Fresh from a highly-circulated trip to the Turks & Caicos Islands, Drake joined in the full leather fun to face the Canadian winter.
The 36-year-old rocked a vintage racing jacket from Ski-Doo, a line of snowmobiles manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products, with matching black leather pants featuring hits of yellow and red branding.
Meanwhile, on foot, he stuck with the outdoor shoes he’s come to be known for by wearing a long sold-out collaboration between Diemme and Heliot Emil.
While it’s fair to say that we haven’t always been the biggest fans of the Champagne Papi’s style, his gorp-y experimentations have been hitting the spot. Only a few months ago we saw him mix Diemme collab boots with a vintage football shirt and now he’s switched things up and opted for snowmobile wear — it leaves you wondering which sport he’ll be taking vintage wares from next.
And since a full retro leather snowmobile suit and a low-key footwear collaboration from 2020 are hard to come by, we’ve taken some styling pointers from Drizzy and put together our own look below.
